This layered hand-cut paper piece is an exploration of stillness, symmetry, and inner depth. Inspired by Islamic geometric form, the work draws on the quiet discipline of repetition and precision, allowing light, shadow, and space to become part of the composition itself. The outer simplicity of the white surface gives way to warm hidden layers beneath, inviting a slower kind of looking.
At its centre, the form gently draws the eye inward, suggesting that what is most meaningful is often not immediately seen. For me, the piece reflects the idea that beauty is not only found in what is visible, but also in what is revealed gradually — through patience, attention, and contemplation.
