About the Event
Join me and our guest facilitator Ighsaan Omar for Part 3 of the Islamic Geometry Workshop Series, a creative online session where we take geometric pattern beyond the page and begin exploring it through paper, fold, and thread.
In the previous workshops, we focused on foundations, construction lines, symmetry, and drawing complete patterns. In this third session, we will work with one beautiful 4-fold Islamic geometric pattern and use it as a starting point for two creative paper-based techniques.
The first part of the workshop will guide you through drawing a 4-fold pattern step by step. From there, we will look at how a drawn pattern can be transferred and prepared for paper embroidery, allowing the structure of the pattern to become a slow, stitched artwork.
